Camel Grinding Wheels Names President
CGW-Camel Grinding Wheels appointed Mike Sullivan president for CGW and Pasco in the United States and Canada. Sullivan brings 35 years of abrasives experience to the position, including a recently completed two-year term as president of the Coated Abrasives Fabricators Association. He previously served as vice president at United Abrasives/SAIT and as director of industrial coated abrasives product management and marketing at Saint-Gobain.
Metabo’s Large Angle Grinders
Metabo Corp. introduced two large angle grinders with safety brakes. The grinders stop the wheel in 2.5 sec. of releasing the paddle switch, which reduces the risk of injury in the event the operator loses control of the grinder. The WEPB 24-180 MVT 7-in. wheel has a no-load speed of 8,500 for weld seam prep and beveling work. The WEPB 24-230 9-in. wheel has a no-load speed of 6,600 for covering larger surface areas when grinding and adding extra depth capacity for cutting
Weiler Video Highlights Support For WFW
In a video recently produced by Weiler Abrasives Group, the company offers an overview of Workshops for Warriors, a nonprofit school that trains, certifies and helps place veterans, wounded warriors and transitioning service members into advanced manufacturing careers. Additionally, the video highlights Weiler’s “Leading a Warriors’ Charge” fundraising campaign, which was created to support machining and welding training programs at WFW as well as future efforts set forth by the organization.
Pferd Presents Thin Cut-off Wheels
Pferd Inc. offers cut-off wheels suited for thin-gauge sheet metal, thin-walled tubing and small-diameter cross sections. The SG Steel wheel is made from a high-performance aluminum oxide grain. It can be used to cut sheet metal, sections and solid material. The SG Steelox wheel is used for general purpose cutting of steel and stainless steel. The SG Alu wheels are designed for nonloading cut-off use on aluminum and soft, non-ferrous sheet metal, sections and solid material

Walter Surface Technologies Presents Flap Discs
Two new flap discs are available from Walter Surface Technologies Inc. Instant Polish flap discs have good polishing properties and can achieve No. 8 mirror finishes in a single step. They lower metal roughness averages (Ra) by 20 micro inches and achieve mirror finishes at an Ra of less than 4 micro inches on tough polishing jobs. Ultimate Shine flap discs ensure a consistent surface finish. They deliver mirror finishes with Ra ratings under 1 micro inch. Both discs are available in 4.5-in. and 5-in.-dia. sizes for use at a maximum 7,300 rpm and optimal 2,000 rpm.
