Pferd Releases High-performance Abrasive
Pferd Inc. introduced Victograin, a new high-performance abrasive grain. The precision-formed abrasive grain triangles are identical in shape and size. Their cutting edges are applied to the workpiece at the optimum angle so that each individual grain requires little energy to penetrate the workpiece. As a result, the grain delivers a fast and efficient machining process, long service life, reduced heat buildup and consistent surface finish over conventional ceramic grains. Also, because less energy is required to use Victograin, it performs well even on commercially available angle grinders.

Arc Abrasives’ Improvements For Manufacturer
Arc Abrasives Inc. released a white paper offering an in-depth analysis of how its products improved performance and production for a forged steel manufacturer. Operators used 2-in. by 72-in., 36-grit Predator belts to sand and finish forged steel hammer heads faster and more efficiently than the competing zirconia alumina and ceramic belts they had used. This resulted in a 2-to-1 performance increase, which resulted in a 33 percent increase in efficiency and production, as well as saving over three hours of labor a day.
